When I first heard about adult coloring books a few months ago I said, “Brilliant!” The publicist for “Stress Less Coloring” e-mailed me to offer me a book to color, so I requested the “Mandalas” book.
WOW! Who knew this could be so much FUN! And for you doubters, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it! For any of you with analysis paralysis, jump into this head first!
I find that coloring a mandala really helps me see what my mood is each day, and for brain recovery it’s PERFECT!
It also helps to change my mood if I’m ruminating on my worries. For unknown reasons it helps me to turn to my positive future and smile. If you wish to learn more about this new trend, check this out!

Hi Laura,
Your blog name is too funny. I have heard about this coloring book trend. I am so busy blogging, researching, making notes…deleting Emails… I don’t see having time. To relax, if I have time, I will play FB games on my phone.
Thanks for the post.

I went immediately to Amazon and spent $50 on two coloring books, colored pencils and gel pens! Haven’t colored in over 50 years but it looks very good to me as I start writing my next book. Much better than Candy Crush (I’m on level 1172).
Thanks!

I had blogged years ago about how my father had colored right along with me – using an adult coloring set available back in the early 1960’s. I wished so much these could be brought back. Now, coloring for adults has hit the big time where I live in upstate New York. Yes, it would be perfect for brain recovery – and it’s interesting, because my father suffered a TBI about 7 years before I was born. He was receiving therapy with his coloring and probably never even realized it.

When our daughter was tiny I would constantly rave to the husband how relaxing I found coloring with her. He rolled his eyes.
In other news the husband bought himself his own coloring set and book this past weekend 🙂

I’m a big fan of colouring in – I can’t believe how popular it has suddenly become (I used to have to hide the fact that I had a colouring book!)
