Today marks two years since we left our perfectly nice home in suburbia for the adventure of a lifetime. It may not sound like such a big deal to move to small town USA to build a custom solar home in the southern Colorado foothills, but it was for us at age 60!

I completely understand. Hubs and I decided NOT to build on a property we owned, but rather to renovate our current home, which we love. With our new indoor/outdoor patio renovation, it feels like we’re living at the Four Seasons. Loving it. The landscaping is perfect, and we’re NOT packing, unless it’s for a trip! ~ Lynn

I also hate cities and traffic and bad manners more and more all the time. so I moved to the small town of Thurmont, MD about 7 years ago. I wanted to be somewhere I could walk down the street and get a cup of coffee and a piece of homemade pie..and I have that. The mountains are on my left and it is beautiful, quiet and peaceful here, but I can still go to Baltimore or DC and see a play or go to a concert. Best of both worlds.

I think I’ve told you my late husband and I never got a chance to build our home in Colorado, but we did move to the Texas country. Five years after his death, I sold that place… January of this year, 2016. I’m still living nearby and will never go back to the city for the same reasons. The traffic, the fast pace. No thanks! Not interested. Brenda
